Writing Style

Writing style is of importance, especially when writing for an international audience. Care has been taken to avoid reliance on knowledge of particular religions or cultures.

An international audience requires adopting a basic level of English. If a difficult word fits then it used, but readers should not be unnecessarily sent to look in the dictionary for every second word. Furthermore, uncommon proverbs which are not self explanatory are avoided, since they cannot even be looked up in dictionaries.

In many places, the word "we" is used even when an article is written by an individual. This conforms to the style of scientific articles. It is useful technically, since articles which start out as efforts of an individual may eventually get significant contributions from other people, who join in as co-writers. If this happens then all references to "I" need to be changed to "we". Instead we simply start out using "we" to begin with.
