Writings of Robert Green Ingersoll

Robert Green Ingersoll(1833-1899) was an agnostic, an officer in the American civil war, and a personal friend of three U.S. presidents. He preached for freedom and free thought, and wrote about numerous topics.

There are five texts and interviews of Robert G. Ingersoll about suicide. They once appeared in a single file, in the order which is presented below.

The first interview, (which you should probably read last) is a reply to an article about the Suicide of Judge Normile, which appeared in a Christian newspaper. It is a little difficult to understand since the content of the original article is not presented.

Next is a letter titled "Is Suicide a Sin?" which appeared in the New York World in 1894. This letter received criticism to which he replied. The next two texts are interviews to the New York Journal (1895) and the New York Harold (1897), and an interview about the question of Suicide and Sanity.
