lost in a bleak world of pain

lost in a bleak world of pain
a red light of nothingness blinks
as much as a cat crows to the moon
sleep dissolves into the crisp air
early morning hues turn to greys
emotions run extreme
but don’t seem to be there
lonliness has been apparent since forever
the only ones here are the faceless
the stuffed dolls of straw and muslin
they laugh but are silent
the empty sounds of the void set in
lost in a bleak world of pain

Black Labyrinth
(influenced by 'Labyrinth' the movie)

it starts as a piercing white light
that makes a tear in the velvet black
curtain of your brain
but, it dies down to just a sparkle
on a glass stone of red
as you realize this, you drop the glass stone
it clanks below you
in that which you cannot see
it is oblivion down there, but yet you stand
this frightens you, your imagination runs wild
running through this dark forboding place
fall as you hit a transparent wall
you clank as you touch the ground
like the red glass stone
feel out and the wall is gone

back in the center again, you know somehow
you see a brilliant white light
break through the velvet black curtain again
but as you look at the glass stone
you see it's blue, it's different
thinking you have a new chance
you run until you hit the transparent wall again
a streak of cool tears runs down your cheek
when you stand, you feel a fierce wind
you face it until you're blown away by it

to the center this time
there is no great white light
only a dim spotlight behind you
dead voices whisper around you
until you scream for them to stop
they turn into laughter
laughter at you, at the blackness
Glass stones roll about your feet
turning into crystals
choose one and choose carefully
